The cat shelf works great outside on my backyard fence. No need for Velcro!! The clamps fit perfectly in between the wooden planks. It is very sturdy and my cat LOVES IT!! I did buy some Water Thomson Seal spray and sprayed the wood for additional protection from the weather and rain. It looks great and my cat had no problem lounging on the shelf🐶
